Interlaken – My Favorite Destination In Switzerland

Interlaken is the most famous tourist attraction in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. This extravagant landmark is beautifully squeezed between two bodies of water; Lake Thun to the west and Lake Brienz to the east. The region is surrounded by three mighty mountains: Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. Interlaken is undoubtedly a heaven on earth where you’re not only welcomed by the jaw-dropping exquisiteness of nature, but also have the opportunity to enjoy the best adventure activities and fun leisure events. A perfect getaway from the noisy life with your family and kids offers you your life moments irrespective of the weather. Summer brings their charm and winter provides the best winter sports opportunities.

It’s Easy to Reach Interlaken

You can reach the central town by road, railway, and plane at your convenience. Bern has the closest airport to Interlaken, from where you can take the enjoyable and scenic train ride of fifty minutes. However, Zurich is a comparatively larger airport, and you can find more international flights, from where you can reach Interlaken in 2 hours. You can plan to get to either of the two railway stations in the town, but it’s better if you plan to arrive at the western Station as it’s in the center and close to many tourist areas.

Best Time to Visit Interlaken

Interlaken is an all-weather tourist spot. Lush green mountains and turquoise colored lakes are the best eye-catching sights from June to August; though July is hot, the fun activities in the surrounding mountains have no match. During the summer trip you can plan hiking, cycling, mountain trekking, camping, and adventure sports. The fun opportunities in the winter season make the region even more compelling. The Swiss Alps remain snowbound throughout the winter. During a winter trip, you can fulfill your ski and snowboarding craving in Interlaken and surrounding areas. Additional layers of clothing are a must for you when planning to enjoy the below-freezing temperatures of Interlaken.
